The blade of this Opinel table knife is made from Sandvik 12C27M stainless steel. This type of steel is strong and stainless. It also retains its sharpness for a long time. And yet, even this type of steel, like all other knives, will lose some of its sharpness in time. That is when it comes in handy that the blade is smooth. It means that it is easy to sharpen! As such they are the perfect knives for daily use.

Handle made from lacquered wood
The handle of these Opinel knives is made from wood. This wood is lacquered and can therefore handle moisture. This, combined with the stainless steel blade, ensures that, according to the manufacturer, the knife is dishwasher proof. However, we do not recommend cleaning it in the dishwasher. The combination of high temperatures, aggressive detergents and prolonged exposure to moisture can damage the knives. The blade can also be damaged when it comes into contact with other hard objects. Clean and dry the knives by hand and you will enjoy them for a really long time!
